No s\u00f3lo son habituales en la vida cotidiana, sino que tambi\u00e9n se utilizan mucho en aplicaciones industriales. Sin embargo, los term\u00f3metros de vidrio tienen algunas desventajas. Pueden ser fr\u00e1giles, por lo que deben utilizarse con cuidado. Dado que el vidrio refracta la luz, una ligera desviaci\u00f3n del \u00e1ngulo de visi\u00f3n puede dar lugar a lecturas inexactas. Son adecuados para su uso en productos qu\u00edmicos experimentales. Term\u00f3metro bimet\u00e1lico<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El mayor punto fuerte de los term\u00f3metros bimet\u00e1licos es que el cambio en la temperatura ambiente no afecta al resultado de la medici\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de un puntero de desviaci\u00f3n o fluctuaci\u00f3n. Los term\u00f3metros bimet\u00e1licos tienen que esperar a que el metal de su interior se expanda para medir la temperatura, por lo que el tiempo de respuesta es m\u00e1s lento. El acero inoxidable es adecuado para su uso en exteriores y otros lugares. Se fija un extremo de la espiral bimet\u00e1lica al extremo fijo y el otro extremo al puntero. Cuando cambia la temperatura, la chapa met\u00e1lica se expandir\u00e1 o contraer\u00e1 hasta doblarse, haciendo girar la aguja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-palette-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1d13788348a12475c987579d887b8e9d\" id=\"h-3-gas-expansion-thermometer\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3-gas-expansion-thermometer\"><\/span>3. Term\u00f3metro de expansi\u00f3n de gas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los term\u00f3metros de expansi\u00f3n de gas pueden mostrar los cambios de temperatura de forma instant\u00e1nea y medir la temperatura a larga distancia (hasta 60 m) mediante un tubo capilar. Son adecuados para mediciones de precisi\u00f3n y otras aplicaciones. El inconveniente es que el gas se ver\u00e1 afectado por la temperatura ambiente, por lo que el cambio de \u00e9sta har\u00e1 que la aguja tiemble o se desplace. Se inyecta gas en el capilar y, cuando cambia la temperatura, cambia la presi\u00f3n del gas en el tubo. Term\u00f3metro de termopar<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los term\u00f3metros de termopar tienen una gran precisi\u00f3n y un amplio rango de medici\u00f3n. La se\u00f1al de salida es estable, por lo que suelen utilizarse en automatizaci\u00f3n industrial. Sin embargo, el acondicionamiento de la se\u00f1al en el rango de lectura requiere mucho tiempo y complejidad, por lo que no son adecuados para medir peque\u00f1os cambios de temperatura. Son m\u00e1s propensos a la corrosi\u00f3n y la abrasi\u00f3n, por lo que necesitan equipos de protecci\u00f3n para prolongar su vida \u00fatil. La diferencia de temperatura resultante generar\u00e1 una fuerza motriz termoel\u00e9ctrica, produciendo un voltaje medible para medir la temperatura. Cuando se determina el material del metal en ambos extremos, la magnitud de la fuerza motriz termoel\u00e9ctrica est\u00e1 relacionada con la diferencia de temperatura en los dos nodos. Se utilizan dos extremos: el extremo de medici\u00f3n y el extremo de referencia (o fijo). Term\u00f3metro de resistencia (RTD)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los term\u00f3metros de resistencia (RTD) son resistentes a altas temperaturas y tienen un amplio rango de medici\u00f3n. Tienen una larga vida \u00fatil y una gran estabilidad, y se utilizan ampliamente en aplicaciones con detecci\u00f3n de altas temperaturas, como el procesamiento de metales, la energ\u00eda, el refinado y otras industrias. Sin embargo, son m\u00e1s susceptibles a la corrosi\u00f3n, tienen un punto de fusi\u00f3n bajo y deben mantenerse en un entorno seco. Suelen utilizarse en aplicaciones de alta precisi\u00f3n. El metal m\u00e1s com\u00fan es el platino (PT), que tiene una excelente resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n y a la oxidaci\u00f3n, y una alta inducci\u00f3n y estabilidad.
