Expansion

Expansion Thermometer Series

An expansion thermometer, also known as a direct-acting thermometer, is a temperature measurement device based on the principle of thermal expansion. There are primarily three types: liquid expansion, solid expansion, and pressure-type thermometers. The most common type of expansion thermometer is the glass tube thermometer, which utilizes the expansion of a liquid. Gas expansion thermometers, on the other hand, rely on the change in pressure of a working medium enclosed within a sealed volume to determine the temperature.
