Differential Pressure Gauges
Differential Pressure Gauges FAQ
Questions for selecting differential pressure gauges used in filters, pumps, tanks, HVAC, and process monitoring.
What does a differential pressure gauge measure?
A differential pressure gauge measures the pressure difference between two points. It is commonly used to monitor filter blockage, pump performance, liquid level, airflow, clean rooms, HVAC ducts, and industrial process conditions.
Which differential pressure gauge is suitable for low pressure air or HVAC?
For low pressure air, filters, fans, ducts, and building automation systems, compact low differential pressure models such as PRMD or PRMDS are typically considered. Confirm the pressure range, gas compatibility, display size, and installation direction before selection.
When is a high static pressure or overload-safe model needed?
Applications with high line pressure or possible pressure surges should use a model designed for higher working pressure and overload safety, such as PRHD or PRDC. These are more suitable for pump monitoring, filter monitoring, and process control conditions.
Can differential pressure gauges measure liquids?
Some models are designed for gases only, while all-metal or diaphragm-based constructions can support more demanding media. Always confirm media type, temperature, pressure range, and material compatibility before choosing a model.
